Third World
I just saw a commercial on TV last night about the conditions in some African countries and how we can donate to help. This particular commercial showed how a teen aged girl could not go to school during her menstrual period because of lack of money to buy protection and this means she will fall further and further behind until she eventually drops out of school.
This made me realise just how fortunate we are here in the West since when our girls have their period they go horseback riding, or in the unlikely event there are no horses available, they go swimming!

It's sad. The misery that surrounds us all, but the suffering is mere elevator music and the senses quickly block it out unless one raises the reality of it to others around them. But then we flood our minds with various drugs alcohol, television, the internet, food, and the latest consumer goods to keep ourselves occupied when we are alone because we are afraid to ask the important questions. Afraid of what lies beneath this vanity. No, we keep ourselves ignorant to keep ourselves happy.
Thank You...... I think!
