Roasted!

Might as well jump in with both feet.

Music is crap since "My Music" came out in the 60's and 70's. The Missus Herself (if she is well enough) and I are going downtown here in London next week to see the Moody Blues.

This is one hell of a lot better entertainment that my son wanting to see that black wanna-be asshole Eminem, or just about anybody else making music now a days. (With a few exceptions)

The same holds true for Television. Last night they had a "Celebrity Roast for William Shatner" that was one of the lamest programs I have seen in years. As a matter of fact the only ones worse were the roasts for Pam Anderson and Tom Arnold.

Back in the sixties and seventies when the Friars Club was putting on these Roasts we had the creame de la creame of Hollywood and Vegas with Dean Martin as the host.

These programs have become classics and some of the routines by the likes of Don Rickles, Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, Jerry Lewis, Betty White, Bob Newhart, Redd Foxx and dozens of others will go down in history as the golden age of television.

Meanwhile, here in the progressive twenty first century we have shows that give us such luminaries as Courtney Love (who made me want to PUKE!) and everyone's favourite............... Andy Dick!

With Television so crappy and Movies sooooo expensive maybe it's time to crank up the old radio again!

By the way, I have been looking over some of the stats from my Site Meter and find I have a very small (but loyal and discerning) group of readers.

Mini Mike!

Before we get into any preaching and moralizing let's watch this!

'Top Model' winner Jaslene Gonzalez reveals abusive past.

The road Jaslene Gonzalez traveled to become America's Next Top Model's eighth season winner was apparently a long one, as she had to overcome an abusive relationship prior to conquering the catwalk.

"Before I got into that relationship, I had a good head on my shoulders and walked with my head up high," said Gonzalez in the July issue of Seventeen, People reported Monday. "But during that relationship, things went down little by little. It was such a dark moment in my life. It was horrible!"

The 21-year-old online college admissions advisor from Chicago, IL said the relationship could have completely set her back from achieving her dream of winning Top Model, but she wouldn't let it.

And then there is Lindsy Lohan and Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie and a whole host of young male stars who have had such a difficult time adjusting to the limelight.

It seems like every celebrity on the face of the Planet has demons in their closet that causes them to run up DUI's, assaults, inappropriate-hurtful-spiteful comments, nasty actions and all manner of other human failings.

Now, the question is, my dear friends; "Do I blame all my own failings and screw-ups on my terrible past and circumstances beyond my control, or do I stand up and take responsibility for my actions like a mature adult and take my lumps with a bit of dignity?"

Tough call eh?

Unfortunately, it's one that can only be resolved with age and maturity, which sort of cuts out all these young celebrity snots!

I thought I wouldn't, but I have to!

I did a little piece on Anna Nicole Smith a few weeks ago where I thought that our fascination with her was indicative of what was wrong with North American society.

That, as far as I thought, was the end of it! However, something came up that I just couldn't leave alone.

First of all, Anna has been compared to a modern day Marilyn Monroe, (Even though she looks more like Jayne Mansfield) but, there is a big difference. Marilyn Monroe was a certified, genuine movie star! She did pictures with the likes of Jack Lemon, Tony Curtis and Clark Gable.

(Plus, if the press is to be believed, she had an affair with the President of the United States, and married Joe DiMaggio.)

Anna, on the other hand, has never done anything of note except being "Playmate of the Year" in the early nineties.

She is, rather, a product of the modern media, who create celebrities whose only claim to fame is that they are celebrities.

Between the likes of Anna, Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie, we have a new breed of "Star" that is created with an image, but absolutely no substance. Listen to anything they have to say, and they come across as without any depth or value.

I could include the likes of Jessica Simpson and a few others in this class, but at least Jessica put out a few records and had a fan base, not just a bunch of dedicated strokers!

Anyway, before I get too far off topic, the latest news is what made me decide to have one more "kick at the cat!"

The latest person who claims to have fathered Anna's baby is none other than Prince Frederik Von Anhalt who is husband number eight to Zsa Zsa Gabor! (I thought she died years ago, but apparently not.)

It seems that saying you slept with Anna Nicole Smith is now as popular in The States as every guy from Timmins here in Canada who claims to have banged Shania Twain!

But, back to Freddy. He, in spite of all the claims, has been a friend of Anna's for many years, and with Zsa Zsa's spending habits it's no wonder he is trying to cash in on the publicity as well.

The latest twist to this story is that during this friendship Anna once tried to get Freddy to "ADOPT" her so she could be a Princess as well!

This one is just about weird enough to be true!

The only thing that put a damper on that was that Zsa Zsa refused to go along with it!

What a bitch eh! ;-)
