Squeal with delight

I started to dislike teenagers shortly after I got into my thirties.

It was nothing specific, just a general wonder at how they could pull such stupid stunts on a day to day basis and think they were functioning terrifically.

When my own kids hit their teen years I spent many an hour with my mouth hanging open and a glazed look in my eyes at some of the stuff they pulled.

Not to get into any specifics here, but let's just say that critical thinking was not one of their strong points. Or even thinking for that matter!

Well listen here bunky, science has found a cure for teenagers.

A noise-making device that drives away rowdy youth with an irritating high-pitched squeal has quietly landed on Canadian shores after a European debut.

The "Mosquito" emits a high-frequency screech that can be heard only by ears of those aged 13 to 25, raising claims of discrimination in some European quarters while giving hundreds of business owners peace and quiet from unruly young crowds.

Officials in the City of Montreal are studying whether the device could legally be used to clear young drug dealers and bums from scary city tunnels, but the machine is already a hit among some West Coast businesses.
So far, 150 Mosquitos with a starting price of $1,250 have been sold in Canada. British Columbia has the most customers so far, although test units have been installed in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Moving Sound Technologies Inc., the Mosquito's Vancouver-based distributor, has set up sales offices in Toronto and Montreal, anticipating big demand will come in spring.

"It's awesome," said Lisa Deacon, manager of the 57 Below Bar and Liquor Store in New Westminster, B.C. The bar was one of the first North American businesses to try the device, in 2006. "It turns on at night and keeps away all the young punks who hang out at the SkyTrain station."
Two Mac's convenience stores in Victoria have used the Mosquito to clear out drug dealers, while two others in Richmond, B.C., have used it to clear massive teen crowds.

"We use them to deal with a worst-case scenario," said Geoff Higuchi, operations manager for Mac's in B.C. "We love kids, kids are huge part of our business. So it's not the be-all, end-all tool, but it's one more tool to add to the arsenal if other methods don't work, such as policing."
Now if they had a similar device for nagging wives everything would be peachy keen.

The real history of violence!

These days, spin doctors can manipulate anything to prove anything they want. It's gotten so bad that not even professionals can tell anymore "what is real and what isn't!"

Someone from a publication called "Wired" (a tech publication)wrote an article justifying violence on video games and threw us the old argument that video's are not responsible for violence in society, just as T.V. violence is not responsible for your next door neighbors kid hacking up his grandmother with an axe!

Here is his argument!

There are plenty of folks who like to blame violent video games for crime despite a lack of any real proof. (Saying so doesn't make it so - Ed.)

As has been pointed out time and time again, just as violent video games have become more popular, incidents of violent crime keep dropping. (Prove it! - Ed.)

Obviously, there may be other factors involved, but if it were true that violent video games resulted in more violent crimes, then it at least suggests there's one heck of an additional variable that not only compensates for this increased desire for violence, but pushes the stats even further in the other direction.

And, certainly, while there are some researchers who insist that studies have shown that violent video games lead to violence, every time you look at the details of those studies, you realize that the data doesn't support the claims. (These are all just statements plucked out of the air! - Ed.)

Still, some people react to the issue from an emotional, rather than logical, point of view. This is human nature, so it's not that surprising.

However, when someones job is a gov't prosecutor, you might think she would recognize the importance of real evidence before making statements.

Not so for Wayne County, Michigan (which covers Detroit) prosecutor, Kym Worthy.

In an interview with Wired, Worthy notes that evidence is meaningless to her on this issue: "No one can convince me that there isn't a link between some of the gory, gritty, horrendous crime that we've been seeing in the past few years, particularly in the 18-25 year old group, [and] these games."

Apparently any evidence to the contrary are just "'silly' arguments made to justify a 'billion-dollar industry based on the most violent of scenarios.'"

Even better, Worthy wonders why kids can't just go play football instead of playing video games. So why is it that virtual violence encourages more violence, but actual violence in the form of football doesn't?
O.K. That's the statement by the apologists for the Gaming Industry.

NOW, I will only bring up one thing to let you see how full of shit they are!

Ready? OK............... here goes!

"These people claim that violence does not affect gamers or people who watch T.V."

"They claim that the 22 minutes of programming in a half hour T.V. show has no influence on the increase in the rate of violence (especially among the dip shit teenagers who are the main practitioners) yet can't explain why a 30 second commercial on that same program can get $100,000- bucks to influence people................ while they say that their 22 minutes of programing doesn't have any affect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Someone is out to lunch here, and I don't think it's me!"

As proof, look at the movie "Jackass" (If you can!) and then read about all the copy-cat stunts and injuries and deaths this movie has caused!)

Early hominid males were late bloomers!

CBC News
An extinct hominid species that shared the planet with our ancestors almost two million years ago had a mating strategy where the males take much longer to reach maturity than females, scientists said on Thursday.
So what else is new? I can see that things haven't changed that much in the last two million years, just look at today's teenagers!

One foot in the door!

You know someone with a name like Ezekiel Rubottom is a person to watch. Described as a "21-year-old artist, occasional hip-hop emcee, and recovering methamphetamine addict, Mr. Rubottom was also born with a club foot.

This summer, upon advice from his doctor, he had the foot amputated, but instead of letting the hospital dispose of the body part, he took it home and stuck it (along with a can of beer and a porcelain horse!) in a bucket of formaldehyde on his front porch.

When a neighborhood kid told one of his parents about seeing the foot, they called the police, who in turn confiscated the foot pending an investigation.

As it turns out, it's perfectly legal to keep your own body parts, so the foot was returned to Mr. Rubottom, who's already planning on giving a couple of toes to close friends.

Oh, to be young and foolish!

I don't think this requires too much in the way of comment!

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A botched kidnapping ended with one of the assailants shooting himself in the groin, police said.

The man had just stuck the gun in his waistband when it fired, shooting him in the left testicle, authorities said. He cringed, causing the gun to fire again and strike him in the left calf, they said.

The 23-year-old man managed to walk into a hospital for treatment. He and his two alleged accomplices, ages 18 and 20, were arrested on attempted kidnapping charges.

They were accused of trying to kidnap a teenager in a dispute over stereo speakers.

Stick this up your ass!

After spending the last few years wondering what the hell is the matter with my teenaged son I think I have the answer.

Watching a Discovery Channel TV program called "inside the teenaged mind," I found out that teenagers do not have a fully developed frontal cortex in their brains. This means their powers of reasoning have not been fully developed yet.

In other words they don't have a sense of normal limits, or what we adults would call common sense!

This is a partial explanation for the prank this guy guy in Britain pulled and makes me think my kid might not be that far gone after all. (Relatively speaking.)

A man has suffered severe internal injuries after trying to launch a powerful firework from his ass, it emerged today. (no pun intended)

It was thought that the 19-year-old was trying to copy a scene from the 2002 film Jackass: The Movie, which has long been condemned by safety campaigners and blamed for inspiring dangerous pranks.

At the end of a firework display in the Monkwearmouth area of Sunderland on Sunday the man is reported to have got down on all fours, lowered his trousers and bent over, then fixed a Black Cat Thunderbolt rocket to himself in front of a group of friends

One witness described how he stood up and initially appeared to be unhurt, but then stumbled and fell to the ground. It became clear he was bleeding and paramedics and police were called to the scene.

A spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call stating there was a male who had a firework in his bottom and it was bleeding. He was attended to and taken to Sunderland Royal hospital."

The man was reported to be suffering from a scorched colon and extreme stupidity and is still in hospital. Lying on his stomach!

This also explains why the only men we can get to go to war are young people. If they asked a fifty year old like myself to go to war they would probably have to look for me in the Northern Ontario bush, or Sweden.

Oh, my aching head!

I have been visiting a Yahoo site ( http://answers.yahoo.com/ ) that was started on the premise that answers to complicated or deep questions can best be answered when they are thrown open to the general public.

This has worked marvelously well in scientific circles but unfortunately the Yahoo site has been hijacked by teenagers and people in their early twenties. (Probably because older people are more mature and have better things to do with their time!)

If the quality of answers on this site are any indication of our future with the up and coming generation then God help us.

Some of the scientific and technical sites are not too bad but anything in the general knowledge, social, entertainment, relationships, health, politics, parenting and especialy reiligion categories are all answered by a legion of retards.

One refreshing exception I have found was this answer by a guy named Juan to the question; "If Christians are supposed to be so good why do they keep telling you that you're going to HELL if you don't belive what they do."

"The thing most religions fear is that their followers become open minded and try to look at both sides of issues and then make intelligent decisions based on facts. This would be the death of most religions. It is necessary that their followers have tunnel vision and follow the program blindly."

"The whole reward system of heaven and the punishment of hell were made up to keep people in line. The ones that preach and try to impose their beliefs on others (Priests, Rabbis and Imams) are really the pillars holding up these religions."

I will add a few thoughts of my own from the book "The Plain Truth About God-101" (what the church doesn't want you to know!)

**God inspired the bible, he didn't write it. People base their lives around the manic scribbling of a bunch of desert baked primitives who ate bugs and honey! Of course they saw God! -Anonymous

**The bible states clearly that nobody can earn his salvation through morality and good deeds (Gnosticism) since we are all sinful by nature. We have the perfect catch 22 situation were only in the blind acceptance of Christ atoning for our deeds can we be saved. In other words, we are in a no-win situation against the so-called logic of the shaman. If we do not take his word for it then all is lost! –A.W.J.

**Many theologians think of Christianity as two different religions-one conservative and one liberal. They share the bible and the name, but not much more. Much the same can be said for the followers of Islam! A.W.J.

**If faith were the result of reasoning we could expect that most intelligent people would by now be converted to one ideology or the other! –A.W.J.

** "I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure - that is all that agnosticism means.” -Clarence Darrow, Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925.

** If you need further proof that human religion is the devils work read on: “The truth is that Christian theology, like every other theology, is not only opposed to the scientific spirit; it is also opposed to all other attempts at rational thinking.”
“Not by accident does Genesis 3 make the father of knowledge a serpent -- slimy, sneaking and abominable.” “Since the earliest days, the church as an organization has thrown itself violently against every effort to liberate the body and mind of man.”
“It has been, at all times and everywhere, the habitual and incorrigible defender of bad governments-bad laws-bad social theories and bad institutions.”
"It was, for centuries, an apologist for slavery as it was the apologist for the Divine right of kings.” --H. L. Mencken

AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST;

**I was all screwed up on drugs until I found Jesus-
NOW I'M ALL SCREWED UP ON HIM! -Cheech and Chong
