Caught with their pants down!
Now, he's only asking for $54 million, a May 30 court filing in D.C. Superior Court shows.
Roy Pearson, a District of Columbia administrative law judge, first sued Custom Cleaners over a pair of pants that went missing two years ago.
He was seeking about $65 million under the D.C. consumer protection act and almost $2 million in common law claims.
He is now focusing his claims on signs in the shop that have since been removed. The suit alleges Jin Nam Chung, Soo Chung and Ki Chung committed fraud and misled consumers with signs that claimed "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Same Day Service."
But Chris Manning, the Chungs' lawyer, says that can be considered fraud only if the signs misled a "reasonable" person.
No reasonable person, he says, would interpret them to be an unconditional promise of satisfaction.
Pearson, who is representing himself, said in an e-mail the focus of the case, from the start, was based on the "false, misleading and fraudulent advertisements displayed by the Chungs."
Meanwhile, the Chungs say they have had it with American values and are moving back to Korea.

I have sent my clothings to the cleaners and same day service always meant same day service. If I was not satisfy with the service, they tried to accommodate me. I had items lost and the cleaner either found it within a reasonable time or replace it.
Many immigrants look at United States as way to make a buck, but they care nothing about customer service. America has become the land of greed and let the buyer beware.
As a native American. I am not planning on leaving my country instead I am going to fight for my country and maintaining quality. Immigrants can come to United States, but they will not turn United States into a third world nation then retire back to their native country.
I think this "judge" needs to be kicked off the bench for abuse of power as well as filing a frivilous suit and he should have to pay ALL legal fees for this fiasco he started.
At this point, I would not care if the Chung's ripped a hole in a $2000 jacket, you do NOT ask for Millions! He would not want me on a jury, for sure.
This should have nothing to do with who is American and who is not. People want to make this into an "American vs. Immigrant" argument when this really should have NO bearing on the case.
It should have to do with a so called judge abusing his power & position to harass a business owner in America. If he is allowed to continue with this, who will be next?
Relax -
This judge is black. This is how they make their money. When they don't get their way, they sue. It's not gonna change. It's in their "jeans!" LOL!
This doesn't reflect on blacks, or on Americans. It just reflects on Roy Pearson, who is proving himself to be one of the biggest assholes in the history of the world. That will be his legacy.
I understand that in England, if you institute a civil suit against someone and loose that case, then you must pay the legal fees they incurred defending themselves. We should adopt that policy here and maybe IDIOTS like this judge wouldn't be so quick to take an action like this. I agree with some others that are calling this an abuse of power and are calling for his disbarment

Mr. Russo in Fl.......we do have a system similar to that in England. If the verdict is for the defense in trial (judge looses), defense counsel will file with the court a "Bill of Costs" and attempt to reclaim all money spent on the case. If granted, defense counsel will slap a lien on the judge to pay......of course there is a lot more that will happen than what I have listed, but you get the point.
And Joe.....I myself do not think your an idiot, just practicing your 1st Amendment and right to free speech =)
It's common knowledge that the U.S. is the most litigious country in the world and a law that if you loose a lawsuit - means you have to pay the other sides costs - is probably the best thing that could ever happen.
It would sure put a damper on these assholes.
