Dear President Bush;
I have been doing some research for my blog publication "Perspective" (http://god-101.blogspot.com ) and in my studies of the war of 1812, (You know, the last time we had a tiff!) I found out that even though you guys started it, we Canadians went a little to far by marching into Washington itself and burning down the White House and most of the town.
As a typical Canadian this seems a little drastic to me and if it's not too late I would like to apologize for our overzealousness since we are now the best friends we each have.
I realize that some people here in Canada are still miffed about the war and as a result have invaded and taken over most of Hollywood and some of the music industry, but after all, business is business..... right?
Anyway, just wanted you to know we should stay friends.
By the way, I see you've re-built the White House............. it's very nice!
P.S. Who is the asshole who suggested you put up a wall between Canada and the U.S.?

Allan: Thanks for sharing your well written thoughts. I myself do not know much about the war of 1812. So I will now take a bit of a search and be back in a few after I touch on the subject. I should mention that I often use spots such as this to get some of my own opinions out because I almost sure that much of the items I write are either changed or never gets out. Now for the journey.
It was an interesting jouney. Allen, it appears that you are wrong about the burning of Washington. After what the Americans did to Canada, and because the United States intentions, the burning of Washinton D.C. was a just act.
Yes you are absolutely right Clifford and as a Canadian I am well aware of that but you have to realize that was an actual letter I sent to Bush and and I didn't want to hurt his feelings too much.
The Son of a Bitch might invade us again!

When I was a kid I used to walk through an area that had been a battlefield (outside Baltimore) during the war of 1812 every day. Our teachers made us very aware of this.
