HELP! I need your opinion on something.

Whenever we get a new loaf of bread I always take the little plastic tab off the neck, get two slices and then throw the tab away, hold the bag by the neck, give it a spin, tuck it under and put it back in the fridge. Easy, right?

We went to the store today and got a bag of bagels in one of those tube like plastic bags and I had the first two, threw the tab away, gave it a spin and put them back in the fridge. (Where they stay fresher than in the bread box.) Simple, right?

Some time later "The Missus Herself" went and got the tird bagel, looked for the plastic taba and when she couldn't find it............ tied the neck in a KNOT!. (And not just a loose knot, but one so tight that I wrestled with it for over two minutes trying to get it open before I just tore the bag apart and got my bagel.)

End of story? NOOOoooooo!

I went into the living room and said to the Missus, "Why would you tie that stupid bag in a knot when all you have to do is grab the bag by the neck, give it a twist, fold it under and put it back. I had to wrestle with the damn bag and finally had to tear it open because it was tied too tight!"

The answer I got was that; "There must be something wrong with me because I got upset about a silly little thing like that!"

Who's right, me or the Missus. Please leave a comment!

You are right. That is a typical female trick. If they don't agree with you then; "There must be something wrong with you!"

avoid knots for those obvious reasons at times. So I would have to side with you for keeping things simple. However, she does have a point. There are larger things in life than knots in a bread/bagel bag. So I would agree to disagree and say both of you are right.

I would have to agree with you. Getting knots out of bags is frustrating and annoying.

I have to agree with you about the knot tying frenzy. I've dealt with that on occasion, and it's not fun. Once, with a bag of bagels, I tore them open, and took them outside with the trusty 12 gauge. I loaded them up one by one in the clay pigeon thrower, and shot everyone of them. The robins feasted for weeks upon the crumbs.

I agree with you I hate knots. But I don't think it should turn into a fight. Maybe just explain to her why you don't like it and ask if next time she could twist it for you.

Knots are bother some. But if you wouldn't of thrown the little plastic tie thing away. I bet she wouldn't of tied it in a knot.

Allan, I'm with you on this one ~ sort of. The knot is a no-no, but so is throwing the little tabbie away. Keep the peace....give the bag a twist, refit the tabbie, and put the loaf back in the fridge. Go kiss the Missus.

and greet her with a fresh bagel.

I have told her about the twist and fold a million times but when she gets her back up this broad can be REAL stubborn.

Oh Allan.............if that is all the two of you disagree with, you are a very lucky man. Just save the tabs for her to use the next time. Will keep her happy and you will not have to get frustrated with the knots.
Thx for sharing.............................. :O)
