I have stated repeatedly that Muslims in the Middel-East, especially the Fundamentalists, are still living in the twlefth century. Back in those old times the life expectancy was nowhere near what it is now and people got married at a much earlier age to start a family. (Usually just after puberty!)

Well, thing don't change much in Saudi Arabia and other countries in that part of the world. No light has been shone on the dark ages over there for a long time.

An 11-year-old boy has married his 10-year-old cousin in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed al-Rashidi and his unidentified cousin will seal the marriage they contracted under the Sharia laws of Islam and move in together after a ceremony to take place in the summer, Al-Shams newspaper reports today.

“I am ready for this marriage. It will help me study better,” Mohammed, who goes to primary school in the northern province of Hail, was quoted by Al-Shams as saying.

“I invite all my classmates to do like me,” the boy said, adding that he wanted to “crown a love story through marriage.”

The schoolboy’s father, Muraizak al-Rashidi, told the newspaper he was busy sending out invitations for a summer celebration to seal the marriage.

(Dahim al-Jaber, the headmaster at Mohammed’s school, said marriage at such a young age was “inappropriate” but wished the couple a happy life together.)

This is once again another good reason to do away with Sharia Law.

(To think there are actually some bleeding heart Liberals who wanted to impliment Sharia Law here in Ontario. Thankfully, saner heads prevailed!)

Muslims vs Islamists!

This is almost like a "Tale of Two Cities" except it's a "Tale of two Ideologies!"

Let's talk about both for a bit. On the one hand we have the "Canadian Islamic Congress" (CIC) and on the other hand there is "The Muslim Canadian Congress" (MCC) and the "Canadian Muslim Union" (CMU) which were organized to provide a voice to Muslims who support a "progressive, liberal, pluralistic, democratic, and secular society where everyone has the freedom of religion." (Wikipedia)

We will deal with the MCC and CMU first. MCC was formed in 2002, in the wake of 9/11 by a group of Toronto area liberal Muslims. Then in 2006 eight executive members resigned and formed the new CMU whose philosophy of Liberal Islam is similar to the MCC's but with an intention to work "with and within the Muslim community."

These are the only Muslim organizations in Canada to ask for a "separation of religion and state in all matters of public policy."

The groups gained prominence by opposing the implementation of Shariah Law in civil law in Ontario and supporting the country's same-sex marriage legislation.

They also promote gender equality and were involved in organizing a Muslim prayer session in which the prayers were led by woman.

They have also been critical of Islamic fundamentalism and urged the government to ban donations to Canadian religious institutions from abroad, arguing that doing so will curb extremism.

In 2007, the MCC came out against a Canadian Human Rights Commission complaint made by several youths associated with the Canadian Islamic Congress against Maclean's Magazine for publishing an allegedly Islamophobic column by Mark Steyn saying that; "The reaction of the CIC has only given credence to his premise - that Muslims in the West cannot accept the values of individual freedom, a free press and the right to offend!"

Earlier that year, the MCC came out against a proposal by John Tory and the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party to publicly fund faith-based schools accusing the Tories of "pandering to clerics."

The MCC has also been outspoken on the issue of women wearing the hijab saying "It is not a requirement of Islam that Muslim women stay covered completely" and that women should be assured that not wearing the hijab is not a sin. (The MCC is associated with the Progressive Muslim Union of North America.)

Then we have "The Canadian Islamic Congress" (CIC) which refers to itself as Canada's largest national non-profit and wholly independent Islamic organization without affiliation to any foreign group, body, or government and says it represents -- Sunni and Shi'a, men and women, youth and seniors. It has been described as "conservative and traditional" in outlook, particularly when compared to two liberal Muslim groups, the Muslim Canadian Congress (MCC) and the Canadian Muslim Union. (CMU)

The Canadian Islamic Congress (CIC) supported recommendations by Marion Boyd that the government of Ontario permit sharia tribunals to which Muslims could voluntarily submit civil disputes and whose findings would then have legal weight under the Arbitration Act.

The proposal was opposed by the Muslim Canadian Congress, (MCC) the Canadian Council of Muslim Women and non-Muslim women's groups.

(The provincial government ended up rejecting the proposal and scrapping existing religious arbitration tribunals for Jews and Christians in the process.)

The CIC raised controversy when CIC President Elmasry wrote that Canadian Muslims; "Should not to make a cause of publicly deriding their religion, badmouthing the Prophet, ridiculing the Qur'an and mounting uninformed crusades to smear their Islamic Law, the Shariah."

In the aftermath, the Muslim Canadian Congress (MCC) demanded that the CIC apologize for "false" accusations that those who criticize sharia are "smearing Islam, ridiculing the Koran and badmouthing Muhammad."

The MCC stated that CIC President Elmasry accused the group of blasphemy, a crime that carries the death sentence in several Islamic countries, leading some MCC members to fear they will be arrested if they travel to certain Islamic countries...."

Arif Raza, MCC's lawyer wrote that "Your [Elmasry's] false and utterly irresponsible accusations of blasphemy have exposed these active, dynamic and prominent members of the Canadian Muslim community and their families to enormously dangerous consequences" and that "you [Elmasry] have defamed their good reputation and exposed them to ridicule and hatred within their own communities in Canada."

Elmasry responded by stating that Islam has no punishment for denouncing the religion, its holy book or the Prophet Mohammad. (Tell that to any Islamic Fundamentalist)

He dismissed as "nonsense" the notion that his words could be construed as a death sentence.

Unfortunately, Elmasry is incapable of grasping what freedom means -- he is on public record for insisting all adult Israelis are legitimate targets for Palestinian suicide bombers, only apologizing under duress -- since he comes from a culture where freedom is mostly non-existent.

Freedom comes with cost, and the cost of freedom of expression enshrined in Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms is finding someone occasionally offended, yet this cannot be the basis for bridging or censoring the most fundamental right of an open society.

Also, since 9/11 it is transparently clear the assault against the West by Islamists is not limited to indiscriminate violence or the curtailing of freedom of expression!

Islamists are also "using our own legal system as a weapon against us" as Professor John Yoo at the law faculty of the University of California, Berkeley, recently noted.

The case brought to the Federal and Provincial (Ontario and British Columbia) Human Rights Commissions against Maclean's magazine for publishing Mark Steyn's essay on "The future belonging to Islam, a growing faith;" Is an example of "lawfare" being used to undermine the fundamental values of liberal democracy.

It was launched by Mohamed Elmasry and the Canadian Islamic Congress (CIC).

On top of this the CIC has been outspoken in its criticism of a perceived increase in Islamophobia since the September 11, 2001 attacks. (I wonder why? -ED.)

It has accused governments and school boards of failing to address harassment and discrimination against Muslims and Arabs and has called for the province of Ontario to launch a public inquiry.

At a press conference at Queen's Park, CIC official Wahida Valiante said that "Islamophobia does exist and it's growing." and that "since 9/11, there has been no effort on behalf of the Ontario government, including the Ministry of Education, to have a comprehensive policy to address the growing isolation and marginalization of Muslim and Arab youth."

Well, let me tell you something folks.......... it's not up to the Government to "have a comprehensive policy to address the growing isolation and marginalization of Muslim and Arab youth!" Rather it is up to the CIC and any other Muslim organization to publicly denounce any and all acts of terrorism and religious fanaticism!

Islam has a hell of a public relations problem in the West and an "Us versus Them" attitude by ANY Muslim group will not help the matter!

Afghan Women against Sharia Law!

O.K. kids, time to stop with the playful kidding around for a bit. I got this comment direct from Afghanistan and I am pleased to learn there are groups like this springing up.

It's a comment on the piece I did last week on the Bedouin guy in Israel who had eight wives and 60 or 70 kids. (No one seems to know for sure!) Not everyone reads the comments section so I want to draw attention to this group here and urge you to support them in any way possible.

Muslims Against Sharia condemn treatment of women by the State of Israel. Government-sanctioned polygamy is unbecoming of a country that claims to be the only true Democracy in the Middle East. We call on Israeli Knesset to immediately enact a law prohibiting married men to marry more women. No civilized society of the 21st century can permit this medieval practice. No civilized society treat its women as less than human beings.

You see? It's not just the Arab States that condone Sharia Law. I replied!

I believe outside pressure can help people in situations such as yours and I will promote it any way I can.

Would you believe there were some very misguided politicians here in Ontario that actually toyed with the idea of introducing Sharia Law over here for Muslim women.

That is until the everyday people slapped them and brought them back to reality.

Straight from the horses mouth!

Adham Benni is past president of the Arab Students' Association here at The University of Western Ontario and has been quite vocal over the years with sharing his views on the relationship between Christians Jews, and Muslims.

Here is a small excerpt by him from this weekend's London Free Press and the reason I make note of it here is that we need a lot more people just like him. The silent majority might be most of us, but we sure don't say much!"

Enough is enough with Muslim apologetics. Just step back for one second, and ask yourself why do Muslims choose to live in Canada, and not live in their homelands?

The answer is simple; they are running away from Shari'a or man-made Islamic Medieval laws that has caused Muslim civil wars, bigotry, demagogy and stagnation.

You know very well that most Shari'a law is politicised and has many biases against women, non-Muslims and other minorities. As a Canadian Muslim, I do not abide by these man's made laws; especially laws that promotes Jihad against the Infidels (Christians and Jews).

This was the language of old conflicts between the Christian Crusaders and the Muslim Jihadists.

Christians have reformed and separated politics from religion and prospered, where we as Muslims have failed miserably.

Most Muslims are peace-abiding citizens, but we cannot keep our head in the sands and pretend that there is no problem with how Islam is interpreted to justify Holy killings. So as a Moderate Muslim, why don't you stop blaming Bush for Muslim failings to adapt and accept modernity, and start the crucial task of confronting extremism within our communities, and make the world a safer place?

German judge denounced for citing Quran.

Politicians and Muslim leaders condemned a German judge Thursday for citing the Qur'an in her rejection of a Muslim woman's request for a quick divorce on grounds she was abused by her husband.

Judge Christa Datz-Winter said in a recommendation earlier this year both partners came from a "Moroccan cultural environment in which it is not uncommon for a man to exert a right of corporal punishment over his wife."

The judge argued her case was not one of exceptional hardship in which fast-track divorce proceedings would be justified. When the woman protested, Datz-Winter cited a passage from the Qur'an to back up her argument that reads in part: "Men are in charge of women."

The judge was removed from the case and the Frankfurt administrative court said it is considering disciplinary measures against her.

Court vice-president Bernhard Olp said Thursday the judge "regrets that the impression arose that she approves of violence in marriage."

Olp said the judge was convinced she was doing everything she could to protect the woman, who had been granted a restraining order against her husband.

Olp said her reasoning was unacceptable but insisted it was a "one-time event" that would not have an effect on other cases, or on the final ruling in the divorce proceedings.

Justice Minister Brigitte Zypries condemned the judge's decision. "Every so often, there are individual rulings that seem completely incomprehensible," she said.

Legislators from Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats said traditional Islamic law, or Shariah, has no place in Germany."The legal and moral concepts of Shariah have nothing to do with German jurisprudence," Wolfgang Bosbach, a legislator with the Christian Democrats, told N24 television.

"One thing must be clear: in Germany, only German law applies. Period."

Ronald Pofalla, the party's general secretary, told Bild newspaper: "When the Qur'an is put above the German constitution, I can only say, 'Goodnight, Germany.'"

Representatives of Germany's Muslim population were also critical of the ruling.
"Violence and abuse of people — whether against men or women — are, of course, naturally reasons to warrant a divorce in Islam, as well," the country's Central Council of Muslims said in a statement.

Here's a Little Ditty About Jack and Diane!

Two American kids, doing the best that they can!

I have said repeatedly on this blog that there are fundamental cultural differences between us and the Middle-East. (North Americans and Europeans, this includes Blacks, Hispanics, Orientals etc. We are talking Culture, not Race!)

Nowhere was this brought home to me more that a survey I read about public attitudes and opinions in Egypt, and by default most of the Mid-East. Pay special attention to the last part!!!

Western culture is very pervasive amongst Egyptian youth, but the values still aren't accepted, since Western societies are viewed as immoral. (You people with your sexual freedoms and the not committing of honor crimes!)

So.... If someone dis-honours you in the Middle East it is still required that you avenge yourself to regain your families Honour!
(Machismo and tribalism run wild!)

A far cry from the laws we have here, and something to remember when someone says all people are alike, or, are they really any different? And especially when someone suggests that we should have Sharia law over here - as happened recently in Ontario.

Yes, people are basically alike, but the culture they come from can be a world removed from us!

If I ruled the world!

The Janssen Manifesto

Part 1:

Here it is a Sunday afternoon and I have not been out all weekend because it is too hot! Instead, I sat in front of this damned computer, wrote in my own blog, and visited all sorts of others from literally around the world.

A realization slowly started to form in my feeble little brain that there are uncountable points of view on any major subject, with a particular emphasis on politics and religion.

Not only that, but the vast majority of people whose thoughts I read about on their “blogs” seemed to be totally out of their minds. (Or at the very least, seriously mis-informed about that of which they were speaking!)

In other words, they were full of shit!

This got me thinking about my dear old Mother who once said to me in a fit of pique and self-righteous indignation; “If I ruled the world, things would be a lot different!”

This sent me into a daydream about how I could go about solving all the big problems in the world and just for the hell of it, here I go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, we might as well start with politics and close to home, which for me is here in Canada.

There are two big problems here. The first is Quebec and all their whining about how they are distinct and different and this and that.

It never stops - and they keep talking about getting out of Canada for a better cultural and economic life! (This in spite of the fact that someone, [Churchill?] once said; “The French are the greatest second raters in the world!”)

That is an easy problem to solve. We do not let them separate. We kick them out!

Separatists in Quebec keep telling the population how the province could do better on its own both culturally and economically. (Never mind that Quebec receives far more than it gives to the Federal government.)

They also would then be a country with 10 million people in a sea of over 300 million English-speaking people - and without the support of the Canadian Infrastructure.)

Could they pull this off? Of course not.

Just so there are no hard feelings - when they leave we will even give them Labrador so that they might find some more oil and minerals for their economy.

BUT, we need a connection to the Eastern part of Canada so we will take, (remember there are more of us than them) the South Shore to avoid partitioning the country.

For any non-Canadian who does not know, the South Shore is the part of Quebec on the south side of the Saint Lawrence River that extends in a small band from Ontario to New Brunswick.

This, by the way would also automatically solve the problem of bilingualism! There would not be any - so all the cereal boxes would be in English again.

The other problem is multi-culturalism. WE DO AWAY WITH IT!

Where the United States is described as a huge “Melting Pot;” Canada has stressed retention of national characteristics for recently arrived immigrants and this has led to chaos in certain parts of society.

When my relatives came here from Europe in the fifties it was a case of learning the language and fitting in with society.

The big thing was that you did it as a Canadian, and you did it according to the laws of this Country, not the laws of the place you came from!

These days everyone wants to pick and choose what sort of Canadian they want to be.

People from India want to join the Royal Canadian Police but insists on wearing their turban instead of a Mounties hat - on religious grounds. It does not occur to them that if they do not like it they just do not join. NO, instead we have to alter our institutions and customs to suit them instead of the other way.(Plus they would look like real assholes with a hat perched on top of their turban!!!)

Indian Sikh schoolchildren claim that they can take a dagger to school because it is their custom and religion from “Over There,” and why should they have to change just because they are “Over Here!”

Sikh extremists blow up Canadian airliners because ther are pissed about conditions back in India!

Muslims want to be able to impose an Islamic “Sharia Law” on their people instead of abiding by the laws of Canada, and when they are turned down, scream discrimination.

Then young Muslims and their families live here, collect welfare and all the social benefits the country has to offer them, live far better than they ever could have “back home,” and then plot to perform terrorist acts to further their cause of Islamic Fundamentalism. (A couple of dozen of them in Toronto of all places! What the hell do they have to bitch about the Canadian way of life.)

People come here, get their Canadian Citizenship and immediately go back to the country of their birth.

Then twenty or thirty years later, when there is ethnic or religious strife where they are living again, the first thing they do is plead with the Canadian government to bail them out and give them free passage back to Canada.

(As of this writing, it just happened again in Lebanon!)

SO,the solution is the end to Multi-Culturalsim, if you're going to be here, you're going to fit in here! Never mind the baggage from "back home, we don't need that shit"

There, that solved some of the major problems here in Canada. In Part two; we will straighten out the Middle East, and after that the rest of the World. Stay tuned!
